Kyle Kendrick pitched brilliantly and Kevin Frandsen had four hits, effectively producing a winning joint effort. They also collectively argued for better positions with the Phillies next spring, when the results of the club’s stretch drive into nowhere are pored over and acted upon. If Charlie Manuel is still one of the main evaluators for this club by then, he might judge that Rollins’ act not only has grown tired, but is something that never can be changed.
